Workshop: Biological monitoring

Learn about how biological monitoring can help identify risks and save lives! This 2-hour, in-person workshop is an introductory course on biological monitoring, providing principles and case studies in which biological monitoring has been applied to assess chemical exposure risks.  

This is your chance to gain an understanding of how biological testing can be a powerful tool to analyse risks and build safer work environments.  

Martin gained a PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Leiden University, The Netherlands and has worked since in various technical and managerial roles within industry and research organisations. He has been a GLP study director for food safety studies and implemented the first NATA accredited ISO 17025 quality management system for research within NSW. Martin joined TestSafe in 2012 as the manager of the Chemical Analysis Branch, the SafeWork NSW laboratory working at the forefront in occupational exposure testing for hazardous materials through workplace and biological monitoring.

Archana Venkateshan is the Quality Assurance Manager at Chemical Analysis Branch of TestSafe Australia, which is part of SafeWork NSW. She has wide experience in the field of Analytical chemistry in various industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Food and Agribusiness, Veterinary health, Environmental and Occupational Hygiene. She has extensive knowledge in Analytical method development and validation using various Analytical instruments such as HPLC, LC-MSMS, GC-MS, ICP-MS. Further she possesses a deep understanding of regulatory requirements of NATA and ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Archana Joined TestSafe laboratory in 2018 has been gaining knowledge and expertise in the analytical aspects of workplace hygiene monitoring and biological monitoring.
